What’s a country that’s at the top of your bucket list?

Imagine this. If you dare take such liberties like enjoying some playful fiction. If you do, then please take a journey with me. Can you imagine yourself on a luxury yacht. Can you hear the waves breaking against the bow? Can you hear seagulls? Can you feel the sun on your face? Can you feel the sea breeze and taste the salty air. Can you imagine sailing just offshore some charming seaside, old world village.

Maybe picture yourself, if you dare dream about pleasant adventures, riding in a horse drawn carriage? Can you hear the horses hooves clack out a rhythmic tune, echoing through colorful historic, cobblestone streets. Perhaps you would fantasy a rustic rural ride overlooking rolling green countryside, and breathtaking coastal scenery?

If this turns you on, you’d love Denmark. Oh yes. Denmark’s natural beauty is awesome, in deed. Would you agree with me?

Denmark’s picturesque harbors, sandy beaches, and centuries-old architecture offers visitors a wonderful blend of Scandinavian charm and hospitality.

I’d especially love to visit the island of Samsø, where peaceful farmland meets the sparkling sea, and where residents have accomplished something remarkable with renewable energy.

Check this out, beginning in the late 1990s, Samsø undertook an ambitious energy transformation through local participation. Can you imagine all the farmers, residents, and investment groups helped finance their own community-owned renewable energy facilities. This is amazing. Right? This is what I blog about, the emerging renewable energy economy. Denmark demonstrates how proven mechanisms can build an energy economy that decentralizes wealth.

Can you imagine living in an environmentally friendly world? A world that’s clean and green?

That’s why Denmark tops my bucket list. They built a full scale, functioning decentralized renewable energy economy. A model other countries can pattern their emerging renewable energy economy after. Large corporations own much of the fossil fuel infrastructure, concentrating wealth and creating global chokepoints. Now imagine living in a decentralized energy economy. Can you imagine how that could change global geopolitics?

The transition is already underway. Can you see it happening? Denmark and other places are developing community-owned renewable energy facilities. That’s a different geopolitical model from fossil fuels. Can you imagine a world without giant energy companies owning most the energy infrastructure? Can you dare imagine living in a world without wars fought over global chokepoints.

Would you call that freedom? Imagine generations to come having clear air and clean seas to enjoy as we have done. Can you imagine living in this exciting time. Can you possibly imagine a present with an emerging renewable energy economy and Peace on Earth?
