Dan Aykroyd and the Blues Brothers

I’d honestly love to sit down with Dan Aykroyd, in a little blues club, somewhere in Chicago. It would be so cool having a couple of drinks with Elwood Blues. We’d rap about the blues music, of course. I love to hear stories of the Blues Brothers and the early days of Saturday Night Live.

I’d ask Dan Aykroyd about John Belushi. How they met. What inspired the Blues Brothers, and how they managed to assemble such an extraordinary collection of musicians.

I’d especially want to hear his stories about working with legends like Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Ray Charles, and John Lee Hooker. Those weren’t just celebrity appearances. Those musicians represented generations of American musical history.

I play the blues myself, on my Gibson SG. The Blues Brothers inspired me back in high school, and I’ve been hooked on blues-rock guitar ever since. I’d love to tell Dan Aykroyd how much that he influenced me.
