Payday Rocks

What positive events have taken place in your life over the past year?

The Pay in the Rock

by Randolph A Lewis

I dealt the World Series of Poker. That was big.
I filed two patents. That was bigger.
But the real moment came from an electrolysis error in my own Megahead Hydroelectric Hydrogen Generator calculations.

That mistake forced me to rethink hydrogen costs.
Pushed me toward olivine-rich ultramafic rock.
The chemistry worked. The physics worked. Hydrogen flowed.
Then I saw the finance: the olivine-rich ultramafic rock cost more than the hydrogen it produced. The consumption rate was high.

Serpentinization produces serpentine.
And serpentine isn’t waste — it’s value.
It traps carbon permanently.
It earns carbon credits.
It feeds real industries.

The payoff is the serpentine.
The by-product became the revenue.
The revenue offsets the hydrogen cost.
The “mistake” exposed the economics hiding under the chemistry.

That was the positive event of my year:
finding out the by-product pays for the product.
